Sr Data Scientist - Product Owner Enterprise Data Lake
What you will do

In this vital role you will be part of Amgen's Transformative Digital Capabilities (TDC) organization, which is a global process development function at the cutting edge of digital transformation in the biopharmaceutical industry. TDC provides thought leadership and differentiated capabilities in : digital threads for end-to-end data capture, integration, management, and analytics; digital twins from empirical, first principles, and hybrid modeling techniques for reduced experimentation and improved process performance; and platforming and stewardship of digital assets, technologies, and processes.
The Digital Products and Capabilities team within TDC is searching for a Senior Data Scientist to serve as the Product Owner for the Operation's Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) and analytics lead. The Operation's EDL is a system implemented in 2016 as a central location for Process Development (PD) staff to access and analyze data from many sources. This role will also develop the strategy to drive improved usability and accessibility of the data in the EDL through process improvements and visualizations.
In this vital role the EDL product owner should lead the development team through system enhancements and upgrades according to Stakeholders' requests and to satisfy upstream and downstream systems requirements.
Plan, prioritize, and continuously evolve product roadmap and product feature backlog with changing business priorities and user needs
Understand end-user needs and translate user requirements into actionable stories for team to implement
Participate in ART events, PI planning, sprint reviews, etc.
Assess value, develop cases, determine metrics, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy
Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint / release goals and escalate potential issues to program sponsor
Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities along with User requirement and SOP ownership
Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge, answering questions, collecting user feedback, and running User / SME Meetings
Review and accept features and enhancements developed and tested by EDL team
Additional Qualifications / Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications :
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of lab informatics experience OR
Associate's degree and 8 years of lab informatics experience OR
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of lab informatics experience OR
Master's degree and 2 years of lab informatics experience OR
Doctorate degree
Preferred Qualifications :
Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology (I.e. Jira, smartsheet, miro, etc.)
Experience with change management and IS systems
Experience with EDL Operations and OVDAS technologies
Experience with GxP operations and SOP ownership
Familiarity with some business processes leveraging EDL and related tools
In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management
Understanding of business value related to features and functions
Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
