Veterinary Technician or Assistant Qualifications
Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms
Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state or a Veterinary Assistant
Responsibilities
Laboratory procedures including but are not limited to hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecal
Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members
Nursing skills including restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring
