ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Financial Planning & Budgeting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted performance, providing actionable insights to leadership on a regular and requested basis. Analyze trends and raw material costs to support operational efficiency including awareness of risks and opportunities.
- Review complex financial work processes, systems and procedures for efficient workflow and data reporting.
- Support business leaders in developing financial projections and strategic plans.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain financial models to analyze business trends, revenue drivers, and cost structures. Use financial models to access profitability and capital expenditures.
- Develop dashboards, KPI reports, and financial presentations for leadership.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions, including pricing strategies and cost optimization. Analysis may include detailed financial reports and presentations.
Data & Decision Support:
- Work cross-functionally with operations, sales, and procurement to improve financial processes and reporting. Accuracy and availability will be key report measures.
- Identify key business drivers and risks, recommending proactive measures to enhance profitability.
- Support M&A evaluations, investment decisions, and capital allocation strategies when applicable.
- Review and identify strategic and financial opportunities.
Process Improvement & Systems Optimization:
- Continuously refine financial processes and reporting tools to enhance efficiency.
- Leverage company and financial systems (e.g., ERP, BI or CRM tools) to streamline data extraction and analysis.
- Assist in the implementation of automation and advanced analytics for enhanced decision-making.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field. 5 years’ experience in financial planning and analytics, preferably within plastics or manufacturing industry. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar). Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to develop and implement practical solutions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders. Additional experience engaging cross functional team members at all levels.
