What are the responsibilities and job description for the R&D Engineering Tech position at Viaflex, Inc.?
SUMMARY:
Assist product development by producing, testing, fabricating, and/or troubleshooting a process, system, assembly, or product.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- · Assist product development and coordinate with internal teams on a variety of products and processes, including trial execution, product testing, processes, bill of materials, and equipment maintenance.
- · Research, investigate, and select technical data pertinent to the assigned project.
- · Work with internal teams and external sources to obtain and communicate data relative to product development requirements.
- · Write trial reports and document results.
- · Prepare technical reports and recommendations on projects.
- · Participate in department improvement activities.
- · May be asked to interact with customers to install, monitor, troubleshoot, or repair products.
- · Demonstrates the Viaflex Team Member Values in their daily actions.
- · Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- · May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
- · Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of an associate degree in field related to specific position is preferred. 2 years’ experience in a related position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Specific skills, proficiencies, and knowledge in field related to position, as identified by department leadership. Knowledge of manufacturing techniques is preferred. Basic problem analysis and problem-solving techniques. Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office. Team player who is self-motivated and has ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently. Ability to read drawings and work instructions and maintain accurate records. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff. Travel may be necessary, based on position.

Working Conditions: Exposure to a normal office environment. Position may occasionally require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
