Education High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational or technical schooling preferred.

Position scope/summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of all equipment, HVAC and electrical systems and routine maintenance, utilizing the preventive maintenance schedule.

Assist with the installation, movement and disassembly of machinery and equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct some preventive maintenance per the schedule for all equipment assigned, to reduce downtime and prevent failures
• Perform some unscheduled servicing of equipment after a problem is discovered
• Assist with the installation, movement and disassembly of machinery and equipment
• Employ the strategies of 5S in order to maintain an efficient work area; clean, well ordered and maintaining the right types and amounts of spare parts
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance issues on all equipment
• Follow the proper methods and procedures for the handling of non-hazardous waste in the plant and removal of waste from the plant
• Deal with outside contractors for routine maintenance items/service contracts when necessary
• Ensure cleaning schedules are adhered to per PM-015 and maintenance schedules
• Keep work area clean
• Other duties as necessary

• Ability to spend time using your hands to handle, control, reach, or feel objects, tools or controls
• Will spend extended periods of time standing and walking throughout the shop
• Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, bend and twist

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to maintenance equipment and systems
• Able to use some of the tools necessary to conduct the work involved with maintaining Viant Medical’s equipment and building systems
• Able to use the computer, specifically spreadsheets, word processing and data base programs as well as experience with PM systems
• Able to follow instructions, both written and verbal
• Effectively communicate with all levels of employees, as well as outside contractors
• Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities with many time constraints
