Thin Film Coating Technician
Job Description:
- Follow all safety and quality procedures as defined by the company.
- Operate and maintain optical coating machine.
- Installing and removing optical components in coating machine.
- Work with solvents and chemical particles following all PPE requirements.
- Work in a clean room 80% of the time.
- Must be able to work 12 hour shifts.
- Maintain equipment, periodically needing to operate glass beading glove box and install or replace coating hardware in the machine using power grinder and various hand tools.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed work instructions without deviation.
- Learn to operate and monitor coating parameters within a 6 month period with a mentor.
- Manually and mechanically aided loading of metal tooling into machine.
- Ability to handle delicate optics without downgrading.
- Must be able to interpret data and make good decisions.
- Knowledge of working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel & Word, Teams)
- Meet a level of productivity as determined by management
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license, and background check required
- High school graduate, or equivalent
- Must be able to work within an ITAR facility
- Ability to achieve government classified clearance preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Must be an energetic personality with strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to follow detailed technical instructions
- Develop new methods to improve functionality and efficiency
- Demonstrated success with maintaining quality control and data management
- Ability and willingness to learn new technology, software, & professional practices
- Able to communicate updates and work-related progress to upper management both written and verbal
