Thin Film Coating Technician
Job Description:
- Follow all safety and quality procedures as defined by the company.
- Operate and maintain optical coating machine
- Work in clean room and non-clean room environment installing and removing optical components in coating machine.
- Work with solvents and chemical particles following all PPE requirements.
- Maintain equipment, periodically needing to operate glass beading glove box and install or replace coting hardware in the machine using power grinder and various hand tools.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed work instructions without deviation.
- Learn to operate and monitor coating parameters within a 6 month period with a mentor.
- Manually and mechanically aided loading of metal tooling into machine.
- Knowledge of working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel & Word)
- Meet a level of productivity as determined by management
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license, and background check required
- High school graduate, or equivalent
- Must be able to work within an ITAR facility
- Ability to achieve government classified clearance preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Must be an energetic personality with strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to follow detailed technical instructions
- Develop new methods to improve functionality and efficiency
- Demonstrated success with maintaining quality control and data management
- Ability and willingness to learn new technology, software, & professional practices
- Able to communicate updates and work-related progress to upper management both written and verbal
- Ability to pass preplacement physical and spirometry testing.
- Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
- This position works in clean room and warehouse manufacturing conditions. The employee is occasionally required to access the warehouse for inventory and materials as well as cross train on other equipment and in other areas within the site. Must be able to reach, grasp with both hands. Physical demands include the ability to rarely lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 lbs.
