Duties & Responsibilities:

- Assures the safety and health of personnel.
- Assures manufacturing equipment and plant systems are:
- Available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
- Reliable and safe to use when in operation.
- Assures department competence in support of:
- Key Performance Indicators’ (KPIs), issues reports.
- Department overall performance.
- Teaming and solo contributor development.
- Improved factory operating efficiency.
- Directs the development and implementation of activities to help meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritizes tasks and schedules based on safety, urgent need, and materials supply. Plans and administer procedures and budgets, escalate appropriately and provide reports.
- Makes budgetary recommendations and controls direct/indirect labor. Develop schedules and resource requirements for assigned areas. Selects, evaluates, and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the team.
- Sustains an organizational structure that provides technical services for the prevention of equipment malfunctions and the quick and proper restoration when a malfunction occurs.
- Understands and utilizes different leadership styles to motivate the team and work in synergistic fashion with manufacturing site and division. Has experience as a motivator. Identifies characteristics in subordinates and develops skills that will enhance organizational competencies and strategies.
- Acts as advisor to subordinates(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
- Frequently interacts with subordinates, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Experience in leading and working cooperative efforts among different service teams.
- Assures functional Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is in place and being optimized in order asset management and care. Maintains functional parts, tools, and documentation. Maintains clean and organized department.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Engineering or Science field, preferred
- Seven or more years of experience in a high-tech, light manufacturing factory environment, with specific knowledge in maintaining and working within the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Class 1, Division-2 (explosion proof work environment).
- Electrically qualified in accordance with NFPA 70E, with Journeyman Electrician level experience and qualifications in electrical system, with strong Mechatronics Technologies background and training, highly preferred.
- Technical background in thin-film vacuum deposition business is a plus.
- Program and Project Managing experience, related to completing Planned Service Maintenance Activities, involving internal and external resources.
- Extensive knowledge of Industrial Building Systems, theory of functionality, maintenance, and reliability service strategies.
- Experience with managing permits and working with State and local Regulatory Agencies in the permitting process and permit retention.
- Experience with and capable of using Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) practices.
- Understands Total Productive Maintenance (TMP), methodology and implementation.
- Is familiar with failure analysis tools such as 5 Whys, 8D, Six Sigma-DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) methodology.
- Affiliated with Professional Maintenance organizations such as Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) or is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP).
