Resident Assistant Job Description
Assists residents in the maintenance of their independence; Provides assistance with everyday functions such as bathing, hygiene, dressing, eating, toileting, and companionship.
- - Maintain cleanliness of building, laundry, Take trash out at end of every shift. Perform shift change walkthroughs.
- Responsible for training New staff members.
- Performs daily household tasks according to the shift task list, including but not limited to laundry and housekeeping.
Communicated with family members.
Reports any abuse or neglect of residents.
Reports any concerns to Management.
-Able to communicate clearly in English using written and verbal methods
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills
-Strong bedside manner
-Ability to work as a valuable part of a team
-Able to work the scheduled shifts, and work overtime as needed.
-Excellent attendance record
- Experience preferred.
Duties:
- Provide direct support to residents
- Assist residents and systems to ensure their well-being.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individual service plans for residents.
- Document and report any changes in residents' behavior or health status to the appropriate parties.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Experience working with individuals with elderly population preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to pass a background check .
