Vibrant Wellness is looking for a Senior Level Electrical Engineer with hands on analog and digital circuit design experience.
Work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists designing high precision analog, digital and high voltage (up to 7 kVp-p) RF (1 - 2 MHz) circuits for mass spectrometers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· RF (1-2 MHz) high voltage (up to 7 kVp-p) circuit design for Mass Spectrometry
· Analog circuit design using MOSFETS, transistors, transformers, amplifiers, buffers, voltage regulators, and comparators
· Low-noise and high precision design
· Digital circuit design using microcontrollers, serial interface (RS-484, RS-232, USB), CPLD and FPGA
· Passive low pass, high pass, band pass, and notch filter design
· Resonant transformer high voltage circuit design
· Programmable logic design using CPLD and FPGA for waveform generation, serial communication and data acquisition using Verilog or VHDL
· Digital simulations using ModelSim or equivalent and test bench design
· High voltage DC and RF circuit isolation techniques
· Thermal management implementation
· Proper grounding and EMI/EMC/RFI design techniques
· Cost-efficient, short lead time, and long-term availability parts and vendors selection
· HV RF Transformer design or specification
· Use of Schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium)
· Use of SPICE simulation tools for analogue circuit modeling
· Generating BOM, assembly drawings and other board related production documentation
· Handling PCB production and board assembly vendors
QUALIFICATIONS:
· BS in Electrical Engineering and minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience analog and digital design or an MS in Electrical Engineering and minimum 3 years of hands-on related design experience.
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience using schematic entry and PCB layout CAD tools (Altium)
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing FPGA or CPLD using Verilog or VHDL
· Experience with industrial, or environmental instrumentation design.
· Good understanding of component ratings, such as tolerance, aging, voltage, current, frequency, Q factor, and power dissipation
· Good understanding of PCB production and SMT assembly limitations and capabilities
· Working knowledge of serial communications such as RS-232, RS-485, USB
