- Direct and coordinate activities of assigned personnel.
- Administers and controls the mechanical, electrical, and instrument preventative maintenance programs.
- Coordinates repairs, maintenance, and alterations with operations and other plant departments to minimize downtime.
- Directs activities of outside contractors as needed, including developing job scopes, and securing proper quotes for the jobs.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance programs throughout the plant.
- Supervises troubleshooting of plant equipment breakdowns, interface with operations personnel and resolve equipment reliability problems.
- Establish adequate controls to assure that most efficient procedures are being followed.
- Review in-progress and completed repairs/construction to ensure that the work is completed in a quality, timely, and cost-efficient manner.
- Assure that all maintenance and repair activities are performed in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain flexible work schedule to provide off-shift supervisory coverage when needed.
- Participates in design of new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment to improve reliability, production or energy efficiency.
- Selects and recommends training for the maintenance personnel.
- Recommend and review needed repair parts / supplies and spare parts for critical equipment.
- Reviews work order requests, generates work orders, and closes work orders when complete.
- Review / input daily payroll information for all direct reports.
- Generate and distribute daily update of work performed and status of jobs.
- Manages maintenance overtime requirements.
- Participates in plant call duty and weekend supervision rotation.
- Enter purchase requisitions.
- Conducting and documenting plant audits for safety behaviour's, housekeeping, and procedures.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
- Drive OEE improvements.
- Assist with design and development of instrumentation systems, including the evaluation of and specification for equipment, within budgeting requirements.
- Build, modify and repair process and laboratory instrumentation devices, both hard-wired and programmable logic, for temperature, flow, PH, conductivity and turbidity.
- Performs maintenance, calibrating, troubleshooting of plant process control loops.
- Analyze and repair the plant telephone equipment, public address systems, and associated components. Trouble-shoots/repairs electronic test equipment.
- Participates in plant safety programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
