Job Function
Join our dynamic team as a Regional Production Control Manager, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials from receiving to production. You'll develop and manage raw material and scheduling requirements, coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams, and utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to optimize processes. Your expertise will help us maintain inventory control and negotiate lead times with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
As the Regional Production Control Manager, you'll supervise and mentor a talented group of employees, setting goals and objectives to drive operational success. You'll tackle moderately challenging problems and ensure that policies, practices, and procedures are well understood and followed by your team, customers, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Fosters a positive workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by the corporation; manages short and long-term planning activities of the planning and scheduling departments for North America’s sites.
- Develop realistic, capacity feasible, monthly production plans that cover the full S&OP horizon based on the demand forecast, customer orders, current inventory, and stock Strategies for Color Solutions – North America
- Guide the production schedulers such that the production schedule follows and aligns exactly with the with the production plan within the planning time fence in the freeze zone.
- Develop and maintain interplant replenishment plans and raw material requirement plans that support production plans and customer demand in collaboration with the procurement department.
- Coach and set expectations for schedulers to respond to customer order availability requests with realistic commitment dates based on available capacity, previous commitments, and raw material availability.
- Manage and lead the plants pre-S&OP process, including coordination of the monthly pre-S&OP meeting, translating demand into a production plan.
- Assemble inventory forecasts to create an accurate working capital forecast.
- Manage inventory against targets and analyze changes to inventory month to month. Lead the monthly slow moving and aged inventory reduction processes.
- Manage production planning related master data in the supply chain systems, including stock strategies, safety stock targets, and capacity parameters working in conjunction with Demand Managers, Production Managers and Schedulers.
- In conjunction with Demand Management, resolve and implement any demand priority decisions when supply cannot meet all demands.
- Follow globally developed standard supply chain work processes and best practices.
- Lead Supply Chain improvements projects in cooperation with Plant Managers and production teams.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of MRP and/or APICS supply chain processes.
- Demonstrated strong communication and leadership skills and exercise good judgment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient with MS Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Business or a related field.
- Thorough knowledge with SAP or a similar ERP system
Travel Requirements: 20%
