We are looking for an eager and proactive COOP to join our team as we design, develop, and test our complex disposable surgical hardware for use in the healthcare environments. Our disposables cover a wide range of engineering disciplines such as optics, material compatibility , controls, and sensors all on a very small, precise scale.

Responsibilities
- Iterate quickly on Concepts, Prototypes, and Tests
- Curiosity, Communication, and a Willingness to ask questions.
- Taking Ownership of tasks and being open to learning
- Develop, in collaboration with stakeholders, test fixtures, test methods, and document results
- Provide design recommendations and feedback to the team during Design Reviews and other development activities
- Comfortable with mechanical assembly mostly outside, but sometimes in a Clean Room environment
- Participate and be comfortable with Clinical Lab Activities and Procedure Development
- Fundamental Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Principles (e.g. motors, mechanisms, material selection)
- Exposure to Solidworks (or equivalent 3D CAD software) to create models, assemblies, and detailed drawings following common design practices and ASME standards
- Clear Communication with Internal and External Stakeholders
- Familiarity with data collection, test execution, and result submission
- Familiarity with 3D Printing and other Rapid Prototyping methods
- Familiarity with Python or similar programming language
