Description
This position presents a unique opportunity to help develop the Litigation Department for the premiere firm in the growing cannabis, psychedelics, and emerging therapies industries. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal issues in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a team of dedicated legal professionals across the country.
The ideal Litigation Associate candidate will have a minimum of three years of litigation experience, preferably representing businesses and other corporate entities in state and federal courts, arbitration, and administrative appeals.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of state and federal litigation and arbitration matters, including but not limited to contractual and other business disputes, challenges to administrative actions such as licensing, rulemaking, and enforcement, and intellectual property litigation.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Prepare for and attend court appearances, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Provide strategic counsel to clients on potential litigation risks and opportunities.
- Assist with business development initiatives, including client outreach, marketing efforts, and networking events.
- Stay informed about developments in cannabis law and related areas of law, and proactively identify opportunities for professional growth and knowledge sharing within the firm.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Massachusetts bar and in good standing therewith.
- Minimum of three years of litigation experience.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presentation abilities.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and client service excellence.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience with business development activities and a demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships is a plus.
