SALARY: RANGE 33 ($29.42 - $35.77/HR)

SUMMARY
Under the direction of an Assistant Principal or Dean of Students, perform a variety of responsible clerical and secretarial functions in support of a designated school office's operations; relieve the administrator of routine administrative matters.
Minimum Qualifications Required to Apply
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education: High school diploma or its equivalent. College level courses in business skills desired.
Experience: Required: One (1) years of responsible clerical experience with public contact responsibilities; working knowledge of computers, data input and word processing desired. Preferred: Experience in a school setting.
Years of experience can be supplemented by the following degrees:
AA - 2 years of experience
BA - 4 Years of experience
MA/MS - 6 years of experience
LICENSES AND OTHER RQUIREMENTS:
Some positions in this classification require a valid California driver’s license.
Essential Duties
Perform administrative and/or secretarial duties in support of an Assistant Principal or Dean of Students, relieving the administrator of routine administrative matters as appropriate; independently compose letters, memoranda and bulletins as directed. E
Coordinate the assigned office and serve as primary contact and reference source for staff, students, parents and the public; provide information and explain policies and procedures over the phone or in personal contacts with parents, students or school personnel as appropriate. E
Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and conferences for the administrator; support the administrator with student discipline by preparing, processing, distributing and filing related documents, and notifying involved individuals of disciplinary action to be completed. E
Provide lead direction and review for other office personnel and student workers as assigned; assist office personnel with various responsibilities as needed. E
Compile and type correspondence, bulletins, student behavior reports and reports; type from rough drafts or verbal instructions a variety of materials such as letters, memoranda, bulletins, reports and statistical data. E
Compile, prepare and maintain school office records and consolidate reports as directed by the administrator; maintain records for such areas as inventory, discipline, suspensions and expulsions, ASB, facilities use, activities calendar and monies owed the school. E
Operate a variety of office machines including a computer terminal, personal computer with various software applications, typewriter, copier, dictation equipment, portable communication devices, camera, laminator, and calculator. E
