Pay Grade: Paraprofessional Level 3
Primary Purpose:
Ensure efficient operation of the College and Career Centers and provide clerical services for the College and Career Centers and staff. This position will be housed at VEHS and VWHS.
Qualifications Guidelines:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
Two to four years of community college experience (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proficient skills in excel, keyboarding, word processing and file maintenance
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of testing and admissions requirements for colleges/universities
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Mental/Physical/Environmental Demands:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged walking/standing/bending/stooping, pushing/pulling/kneeling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (not to exceed 40 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records, Reports and Correspondence
1. Provide assistance with college preparation and the admissions process.
2. Assist with the preparation of reports and student data information.
3. Maintain a calendar and schedule appointments for the Career and College Coaches
4. Verify that the final IHE Registration Report aligns to student's high school schedule.
5. Assist with the dual credit course selection process.
6. Promote events to parents and students.
7. Distribute post-secondary information.
8. Provide assistance with scholarships and financial aid applications.
9. Assist staff with dual credit recruitment, retention, and enrollment.
10. Increase student's overall college awareness, readiness, and potential success.
11. Compile and distribute scholarship applications and newsletters..
12. Maintain the website, brochure racks, bulletin boards and other information areas.
13. Research scholarship opportunities for students.
14. Visit senior classes monthly to provide timely information.
15. Schedule college/career speakers.
16. Assist in coordinating the VISD Scholarship Ceremony
I 7. Complete assigned responsibilities for special projects such as scheduling rooms, compiling information packets and creating spreadsheets, charts and graphs.
18. Assist with clerical responsibilities and scheduling of college readiness exams. Proctor exams as needed. .

19. Monitors activities in the Career Center for the purpose of providing an organized, safe and positive environment.
20. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
21. Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
22. Maintain confidentiality.
23. Assist parents and students with questions.
24. Support staff with various tasks related to College and Career services
25. Perform other duties as assigned.
