Position Summary
The Education Specialist, Allied Health, plays an integral role in leading the growth and success of ECU Health's Allied Health professionals.

This role is pivotal in fostering an environment of continuous learning and evidence-based practice, ensuring that our healthcare professionals and students are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver exceptional patient care.
The Education Specialist actively participates on or leads committees appropriate for his / her areas of emphasis and is involved in the orientation and ongoing development of staff, Quality and Patient Safety Initiatives, Patient- and Family-Centered Care Initiatives, and mandatory training.
The Education Specialist, Allied Health behaves in a manner consistent with the standards and ethics of all health care professionals.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and evaluate professional development programs aligned with organizational goals and strategic plan.
- Conducts needs assessments to identify skill gaps and prioritize continuing professional development needs including serving as a lead for allied health continuing education credits.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to facilitate interprofessional education initiatives and programs that are aligned with organization goals and strategic plan, and to establish competency plans for allied health orientation experiences.
- Leads research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
- Disseminates research and quality improvement findings through activities such as publication, presentations, and other scholarly work.
- Oversight of allied health (experienced and new graduates), international team members, and allied health professionals transition to practice and mentorship support.
- Leads and / or participates in practice changes through influence as a leader.
