WITHIN YOUR TEAM

This individual is responsible for the planning and purchasing of raw material supporting production the Elk Grove, Illinois facility. This position will manage select suppliers to ensure on time delivery at competitive pricing while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. The Buyer Planner will report directly to the Director of Operations.

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Buyer Planner for the Elk Grove, Illinois production facility. This role is responsible for the planning and purchasing of raw material supporting production at the Elk Grove, Illinois facility. This position will manage select suppliers to ensure on time delivery at competitive pricing while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. The Buyer Planner will report directly to the Director of Operations.

In this role, you will:

• Provide materials support by coordinating and scheduling material purchase orders based on MRP output and evaluation of reports.
• Drive forward our Lean Conversion by implementing consignment, Kanban, just-in-time, postponement, and other materials strategies to reduce inventory while increasing delivery.
• Lead the implementation of standard work processes by updating or developing standard operating procedures.
• Work with manufacturing, customer service, quality, global procurement, and suppliers to identify and address materials supply issues to improve delivery and inventory targets.
• Effectively manage material requirement changes resulting from Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs), product End of Life (EOL) or product End of Support (EOS), including leading the assessment off E&O disposition for all product lines and insuring data is updated in Oracle.
• Create and support BOMs in the Oracle environment.

Are you qualified?

• BS/BA degree preferred or 2-3 years of equivalent professional experience in buying and planning function of manufacturing organization.
• Understand the fundamentals and principles of material planning and control.
• Pull system/Kanban system working knowledge required and implementation preferred.
• Basic understanding of MRP, cycle counts, BOMs, and ECO process.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in an international organization preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
