Position/Program: Administrator-in-Training
This program is designed for individuals who aspire to become licensed nursing home Administrators. This is a comprehensive, hands-on training program that will provide in-depth exposure to the daily operations and management of a skilled nursing facility, including resident care, compliance, human resources, financial management, and strategic planning. Under the leadership of the Administrator and their management team, the AIT will learn the critical skills required to manage a nursing home effectively, ensuring high-quality care for residents while meeting state and federal regulations and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate possesses the skills to navigate complex challenges and a desire to learn how to drive organizational success.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or masters degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
- Experience in Managed Care and high-volume Medicare facilities
- Familiar with and understand long-term care regulations
- Sound judgement and decision-making, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive strategic vision, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability and excellence
- Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence are essential for fostering collaboration, aligning teams and conveying the companys vision and mission
- Must obtain Approval from Board of Nursing Home Administrator for AIT Program within 30 days of starting work
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Administrator, the AIT will have exposure and responsibility for the daily operations and management of a skilled nursing facility (SNF), including resident care, compliance, human resources, financial management, and strategic planning.
- Shadow the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) and other leadership to understand the operations, management, and strategic direction of the facility by anticipating market trends, identify opportunities and formulate long-term strategies.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring smooth functioning of resident care, staffing and services while complying with state and federal regulations.

- Staffing and retention
- Will be responsible for collection and analysis of date to identify trends and propose changes to enhance customer service, efficiency and morale
- Learn to manage the departments in a SNF to ensure efficiency and coordination across the facility
- Will take on leadership responsibilities, conducting meetings, and making decisions as the training progresses
- Support the implementation of care plans and monitor resident outcomes, ensuring that the residents physical, emotional, social and spiritual need are met.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
