Position Summary :
Carrier is looking for talented and motivated engineers who will be a part of Carrier's Innovation Hub Americas, to enable the development of innovative and novel Energy technologies in HVAC&R (Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration) applications. Innovation Hub Americas is in Syracuse, which is the North American center for Carrier's product design and development, as well as groundbreaking innovative research. We ideate, design, verify and validate new products and technologies across Carrier's global portfolio, supporting Carrier's goal to be the global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.
This individual would focus on developing novel energy management systems (EMS) in support of Carrier's plan to develop the next generation of intelligent energy solutions. Their focus would be on maturing early-stage technologies that enable electrification and energy management.
Key Job Responsibilities :
- Assist with the development, design, and validation of technology alternatives to the current status quo in HVAC&R systems. These technologies may include energy storage systems or energy conversions systems, in addition to HVAC&R systems.
- Develops test plans and conducts tests for systems, sub-systems, and components in adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
- Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives.
- Identify solutions to improve system and component-level performance.
- Validate multiscale model-based predictions through experimentation and analysis.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation plans by working with multidisciplinary teams, SMEs, and stakeholders to drive and implement appropriate risk reduction methodologies.
- Communicate with other engineering personnel to coordinate interrelated designs and ensure project completion.
- Learn and demonstrate analytical thinking and a collaborative attitude while working in a group of professionals with diverse technical experiences and backgrounds.
