Position Summary :

Carrier is looking for talented and motivated engineers who will be a part of Carrier's Innovation Hub Americas, to enable the development of innovative and novel Energy technologies in HVAC&R (Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration) applications. Innovation Hub Americas is in Syracuse, which is the North American center for Carrier's product design and development, as well as groundbreaking innovative research. We ideate, design, verify and validate new products and technologies across Carrier's global portfolio, supporting Carrier's goal to be the global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

This individual would focus on developing novel energy management systems (EMS) in support of Carrier's plan to develop the next generation of intelligent energy solutions. Their focus would be on maturing early-stage technologies that enable electrification and energy management.

Key Job Responsibilities :

  • Assist with the development, design, and validation of technology alternatives to the current status quo in HVAC&R systems. These technologies may include energy storage systems or energy conversions systems, in addition to HVAC&R systems.
  • Develops test plans and conducts tests for systems, sub-systems, and components in adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives.
  • Identify solutions to improve system and component-level performance.
  • Validate multiscale model-based predictions through experimentation and analysis.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans by working with multidisciplinary teams, SMEs, and stakeholders to drive and implement appropriate risk reduction methodologies.
  • Communicate with other engineering personnel to coordinate interrelated designs and ensure project completion.
  • Learn and demonstrate analytical thinking and a collaborative attitude while working in a group of professionals with diverse technical experiences and backgrounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 years work experience in one of Carrier's Early Careers Leadership Programs (LPs)
  • Currently enrolled in one of Carrier's Leadership Programs (LPs) with successful completion of the program in June 2025
  • Applicant must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
  • 1 years of experience in HVAC related field
  • 1 years of experience with components / system design and testing.
  • Team-oriented personality with the capability to work well in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
  • Experience working in teams to interpret and convert design and process engineering requirements into components, sub-systems, and products.
  • Knowledge of Energy Systems, including HVAC&R systems and / or battery systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in prototype validation through testing and model-based simulation.
  • Familiarity with system optimization techniques and their application to modeling and system design.
  • Experience in setting up and working with data acquisition systems and data processing.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering methodologies and design of experiments.
  • Familiarity with the technology development process and Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Intermediate-level skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail while managing multiple priorities.

    Pay Range :

    61,213 - $107,122 Annually
