Early Treatment Program is a team based, multi-element approach to treating transition age youth and young adults, ages 16-30 years old, with FEP (First Episode Psychosis). This position will be based out of our DeKalb Office. The team of professionals will include a Psychiatrist, Registered Nurse, Employment Specialist, Clinical Team Leader/Individual Therapist, Case Manager, Care Coordinator/Certified Peer Specialist, & Family Peer Support Specialist. CSC (Coordinated Specialty Care) is a collaborative, recovery-oriented approach involving consumers, treatment team members, family members (when appropriate), as active participants. CSC emphasizes shared decision making as a means for addressing the unique needs, preferences, & recovery goals of individuals served. CSC services are also highly coordinated w/ primary medical care, w/ a focus on optimizing consumers overall mental, emotional, & physical health. Care Coordinator/Peer Specialists strives to help people reach their own goals and live healthy lives by supporting them in identifying strengths and abilities followed by assisting them in articulating, developing, and creating personal goals for recovery through one-to-one and group sessions. Peer Specialists support the therapeutic milieu and assist consumers in accessing therapeutic and ancillary services. Care Coordinator/Peer Specialist assists clients with daily decision-making and minor problem-solving skills. Provides emotional support and encouragement and models appropriate behavior and social interactions. Observes and monitors participants’ behavior during daily activities. Intervenes and diffuses potentially disruptive situations using established guidelines. Refers concerns to appropriate staff as needed. Charts observations and incidents. Assists with evaluation of functional levels of participants. Works with other team members to determine appropriate individual goals and objectives and to develop individualized plans for participants.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND At least 1 year of experience working with youth and young adults at transition age at least 1 year of experience working with SPMI (Severe Persistent Mental Illness)
