Purpose:
- Ensure the client, its associates, facility personnel, patrons, and guests are provided with a safe and professional working environment.
- Covering an assignment at a fixed Post, or patrol an area, facility, or Location for the purpose of detecting and preventing individuals or groups from committing acts that are injurious to other individuals or to property.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct patrols at posts and oversee Armed Officers.
- Detaining individuals for further investigation, or arrest where circumstances and conditions warrant such action.
- Answering questions and providing as-needed escort services to members of the public.
- Verifying the security of safes and areas where equipment or items of value are stored.
- Locking and unlocking gates and doors as directed.
- Reducing or turning off facility lights and closing window coverings, as directed.
- Monitoring alarm systems and electronic surveillance equipment
- Reports all incidents of an emergent nature that involve potential damage or injury to any individual within the facility or on the property.
- Patrolling the interior and exterior perimeter of the facility or location, as required.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have at least 2 years of experience working as an Armed Security Supervisor
- Must pass a criminal background
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must be flexible for work schedule
- Valid California State Guard Card
- Valid Firearms Permit (38, 9mm, and/or 40 caliber(s) must be listed)
- Pepper Spray (Mace) License (not for all contracts)
- Baton Training Permit (not for all contracts)
- Valid First Aid Certificate (must be hands-on training)
- Valid CPR Certificate (must be hands-on training)
- High School, G.E.D. diploma or equivalent
- BSIS Module B & C Training
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to twenty pounds frequently.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, stand, sit, and walk for at least up to 8 hours in a shift.
- Must be able to climb at least 3 flights of stairs. Must be able to actively respond to emergency and non-emergency-related incidents per 8-hour shift.

Vigilant Eye Security is looking for a professional Armed Security Guard to protect our premises, assets and personnel. VEPS Armed Security Guards will maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions. The goal is to detect, deter, observe and report.
Qualifications :
Valid Guard Card
Valid Exposed Firearms Permit
Chemical Weapons Certification
Reliable transportation
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers
High School Diploma or GED
Must have BSIS guard card and exposed firearm permit
Must be 18 years of age
Have a reliable means of communication (i.e
Must be able to work at least one day over the weekend per week
Must have the legal right to work in the United States
Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English
Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation
Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures
Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
Be an effective team member and courteous manners
Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances
Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization
Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include maintaining a positive environment and excellent customer service experience
Additionally, the ideal Security Officer will observe and report activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the safety of client property and personnel, while making periodic tours to check for irregularities
Additional responsibilities for the Security Officer include:
Make periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment
Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises
Controls access to client sites or facility through the admittance process
Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons
Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations
Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents
Prepares logs and reports as required

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
