Since 1960, Viking-Cives has manufactured a wide range of truck equipment that makes snowy and icy roads safe for individuals, families, school buses, etc. We specialize in customizing snow and ice removal equipment for heavy municipal, county, and state trucks by installing a variety of specialized equipment. You may never have heard of us, but you have seen our trucks on the road as they make our snowy and icy roads safer for you, your family, and your friends. Our brand-new manufacturing and installation complex in Battle Creek, Michigan and the Great Lakes Division launched in November of 2023. We are the fourth division in a growing corporation with locations across the United States and Canada.

Job Summary:

As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and implementing IT systems. You will handle tasks like network analysis, security, IT audits, web and database administration, and troubleshooting IT problems across various platforms like computer systems, network infrastructure, and cloud environments. This position will cover a satellite installation shop in Merrillville, Indiana and reports to the division General Manage.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency with Windows Server Administration and Hyper-V virtualization
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (switching, VLANs, DNS)
• Experience managing network infrastructure (Unifi preferred)
• Experience with pfSense or similar open-source firewall platforms
• proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, user provisioning)
• Experience supporting and managing endpoints in a mixed-use environment
• Familiarity with backup strategies and disaster recovery processes (Arcserve or similar tools)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems and networks
• Ability to work independently and handle competing priorities without oversight
• Excellent written documentation skills for infrastructure and support processes
• Professional communication skills for working directly with leadership and staff

Preferred Skills:

• Experience administering Infor Syteline 10 or similar ERP systems
• Scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, Power Automate or Zapier)
• Exposure to IT asset management, software licensing
• Knowledge of endpoint security solutions
• Experience supporting remote users and managing secure remote access solutions
• General understanding of IT policy creation and basic compliance principles

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical field.

Certifications such as CompTIA . Network , Microsoft certifications or similar are a plus but not required.

Bonus points for scripting/programming skills.
