The CAD Designer will be responsible for creating and managing Bill of Materials (BOM), 3D CAD models, and engineering drawings using Catia and SolidWorks. This role involves releasing these documents through Engineering Change (EC) and Change Notice (CN) process workflows in SmarTeam and 3DExperience.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS
- Create Bill of Materials (BOM): Develop and maintain accurate BOMs for new and existing products
- 3D CAD Modeling: Design and create 3D CAD models using Catia and SolidWorks
- Engineering Drawings: Generate detailed engineering drawings to support manufacturing and assembly processes
- Release Processes: Manage the release of BOMs, CAD models, and drawings through EC and CN workflows in SmarTeam and 3DExperience
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely release of product data
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all design changes and updates
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in CAD design and data management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- CADD Associate degree, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
- 2-5 years of CAD design and BOM management. Proficiency in Catia, SolidWorks, SmarTeam and 3DExperience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design and documentation.
- Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple complex programs/projects, and rapidly adapt/respond to changes in environment and priorities.
- Advanced organizational, problem solving, and analysis skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, initiative, and commitment to work assignments.
