Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee our fleet operations. The ideal candidate will work with the shop manager and be responsible for managing the maintenance, safety, and efficiency of our vehicle fleet while ensuring compliance with all regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to optimizing fleet performance.
Duties
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including scheduling maintenance and repairs for vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle performance metrics and implement strategies for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding fleet operations.
- Coordinate with drivers if they run into mechanical issues, reporting it to the shop manager.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Coordinate and assist to help drivers find road side repairs needed.
- Coordinate with the shop manager and safety manager what equipment is needed for the day
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless logistics and transportation support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role within transportation or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills to interact with drivers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on performance metrics.
- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to fleet management are a plus, CDL CLASS A a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
