Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Manager to join our Produce Department. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in supporting the Produce manager to oversee daily operations, ensure excellent customer service, maintain product quality, and manager inventory in the department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the grocery industry, strong organization skills, leadership skills and the goal to take over the Produce department in the future.
Responsibilities:
· Customer Service
· Assist in the day-to-day operations of the department
· Staff Management
· Quality Assurance
· Inventory Control
· Merchandising
· Ordering
· Stocking
· Training of new staff members
· Cost Management
· Tasks assigned by Department or Store Manager.
· Willing to get trained on Forklift for unloading of Semi’s
Qualifications:
· Previous retail experience/management preferred
· Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Multi task
· Strong leadership and communication skills
· Ability to lift, carry and handle products up to 50 pounds
· Ability to stand, walk and move throughout the store for extended periods
