Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to individuals facing various challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mental health issues and demonstrate a commitment to fostering positive outcomes for clients through effective counseling and therapeutic techniques.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on gender issues and related topics.
- Utilize art therapy techniques to facilitate self-expression and healing among clients.
- Assess client needs and develop tailored treatment plans that incorporate psychopharmacology when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and any relevant communications.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of all clients.
- Stay informed about current trends in mental health practices and integrate new methodologies into treatment.
Requirements
- A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
- Familiarity with art therapy practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A valid professional license or certification relevant to the field is preferred.
A QMP defines a Qualified Mental Health or Developmental Disability Professional as an individual with a:
o an individual who holds a license, provisional license, or certificate issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, including a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in mh/dd/sa with the population served;
o Bachelor’s degree in a human service related field and 2 years of fulltime, pre or post-graduate, supervised habilitative (I /DD services) or rehabilitative (MI/SA services) experience with the age and population. or;
o Bachelor’s degree in a non human service related field and 4 years of fulltime, pre or post graduate, supervised, habilitative or rehabilitative experience with the age and population. or;
Master’s degree in a human service related field and 1 year of fulltime, pre or post graduate, supervised, habilitative or rehabilitative experience with the age and population.

Pay: $19.15 - $25.41 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
