Village Treasurer Job Description

The Village of Vernon is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Clerk/Treasurer. This position is responsible for managing the village's financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and budgeting.

Key Duties:

  • Manage village finances, including accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the village board.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement budgeting strategies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to village residents and businesses.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
