Village Clerk/Treasurer
The Village of Vernon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Clerk/Treasurer. This is a full-time position that will require strong administrative, financial, and communication skills.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting and finance
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Pay bills monthly and process money transfers
- Reconcile bank statements and prepare yearly budgets
- Process utility billing and payroll
- Submit NYS Retirement reporting and annual State reports
- Attend monthly board meetings and oversee yearly tax collection
- Provide death certificates and assist with election processes
