JOB SUMMARY:
Performs quality control inspections on landscape maintenance work performed by in-house crews or contractors. Takes photos, keeps records, and documents activities of crews and contractors.
Under direction, to plan, schedule and supervise the work of crew engaged in landscape
maintenance within a specific assigned geographic area. Maintain established standards,
resolves landscape problems and perform related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plans, organizes, assigns and supervises the work of grounds crews including gardeners, irrigators, equipment operators and grounds workers. Work with crew foreman to establish daily work schedules and review maintenance problems, inspect completed and work in-progress.
Maintains personnel and attendance records for crew members and participates in training and safety programs. Provides feedback to employees throughout their review period. Provides feedback during employee performance review that is timely, specific, honest and designed to help the employee succeed.
Evaluates personnel and follows up on all requests for service, assigns personnel to correct problems, discusses problems with residents by telephone and in person; notes action taken on each request.
Drives a vehicle to meetings, workshops, and other job related responsibilities.
Regular Attendance Required. All duties performed on site for the Community.

Truck, utility vehicles, calculator, telephone and hand-held radio.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Exposure to dust, equipment fumes and normal outdoor elements.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate Degree, including major course work
in horticulture. Considerable supervisory experiences in ground maintenance work or
equivalent combination of education and experience which produces the following:
· Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
· Knowledge of computer and applicable software programs.
· Knowledge of the safety hazards and necessary precautions associated with the area of
assignment.
· Knowledge of the field maintenance requirements of assigned equipment.
· Ability to plan and supervise the work of maintenance personnel performing various tasks
in a manner conductive to full performance and high morale.
· Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
· Ability to understand and relate to the needs of senior citizens.
· Ability to deal with the public in difficult and general work situations.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires standing and walking for periods of up to 3 hours and sitting for periods of up to 2 hours. Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 10 lbs., occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs. Frequent grasping, stooping, occasional balancing, climbing, crawling, couching, feeling, fingering, kneeling, pulling, pushing and reaching.
Salary : $68,640 - $79,740
