JOB SUMMARY:
Under direction from Landscape Manager, plans and coordinates the daily operations of the work of crews engaged in landscaping activities; performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks. Maintains established standards and resolves landscaping problems and performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plans, organizes and coordinates the work involved with the landscaping. Works with crew foreman and supervisors to establish daily schedules and review landscaping problems, including scheduling and completion. Inspects work by crews and contractors, both completed and while in progress.
Maintains office files, posts data to records, compiles and computes data from files and other sources in preparing complex reports. Prepares and maintains moderately complex fiscal, operating and other records.
Provides information to the public concerning rules, regulations and activities; directs individuals to proper locations; refers difficult and unusual problems to an appropriate official, schedules appointments and maintains an appropriate calendar.
Maintains landscaping activity records for all sections by consolidated schedule and input to computer database.
Operates a company vehicle to perform duties.
Regular attendance required. All duties performed on-site for the Community.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Confers with the Landscape Manager regarding special recurring problems concerning landscaping activity, maintenance and operations. Makes field decisions regarding landscaping operations, meets and confers with other divisions and outside personnel such as vendors.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Vehicle, computer, printer, copier, fax machine, calculator, telephone, radio and other office equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a climate controlled indoor office, as well as exposure to normal outdoor elements performing site inspections.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from High School supplemented by College level course work course work in administration, horticulture and/or extensive experience in landscaping coordination or equivalent combination of education and experience which produces the following:
· of safety hazards and necessary precautions associated with assigned equipment.
· of computer and software programs necessary for communication and record keeping.
· to lay out the work of personnel performing various tasks in a manner conductive to full performance and high morale.
· to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
· to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public and to deal with public relations problems courteously and tactfully.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
of a valid California Driver’s License.
