As a Server at Village News, you will be the face of our establishment, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences for our guests. This role is vital in maintaining our reputation for quality and hospitality within the community.
Responsibilities
- Greet and serve customers with a friendly demeanor, ensuring their needs are met promptly.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items and daily specials to provide recommendations to guests.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the dining area.
- Handle cash transactions efficiently while providing accurate change to customers.
- Assist in setting up and clearing tables, as well as restocking supplies as needed.
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing any concerns or feedback promptly.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a passion for creating positive guest experiences.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and compliance regulations.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Familiarity with POS systems; experience with OpenTable is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing tips appropriately.
- A friendly attitude with a willingness to work as part of a team.
