The purpose of this position is to ensure municipal compliance with local, state, and federal regulations through assistance in managing and coordinating the activities of the Village’s Stormwater Management Program. The position will also assist department activities for street and utility maintenance/construction projects as needed. The work is performed under the direction of the Director of Public Works.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Review minor stormwater management plans and long-term operation and maintenance plans recommend approval for construction and development.Review minor erosion control and sedimentation control plans and recommend approval for construction and development.Review and address drainage concerns by responding to citizen inquiries and complaints regarding the stormwater program, water quality, and site drainage. Oversee a stormwater complaint intake and resolution process.Assists with performing screenings of the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System outfalls in accordance with the Village’s Illicit Discharge, Detection, and Elimination program.Inspects and maintains record of construction site erosion control installations.Assists with inspections of stormwater best management practices, creeks, ditches, etc.Assists Street Superintendent with identifying repairs of catch basins, outfalls, junction boxes, yard inlets, detention ponds, and other storm water systems to insure the systems are functioning properly.Competently operates survey instruments to assist Street Department with stormwater system repairs (such as setting grades for ditch repair) or Utility Department with water and sewer repairs.Assists with preparation and submittal of the MS4 Annual Report.Assists with completing and submitting Wisconsin DOT PASER street condition reports.Assists with inspection of public works construction projects to ensure work is completed according to specifications and plans.Collects data for construction plans and as-built documents to be entered into the Village’s GIS system.Additional Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAnswers office telephone calls regarding citizen complaints.Must be reliable in attendance and flexible to work additional hours as needed.May assist Street Department with various tasks depending on workload, including Leaf Vac/Brush collection and Snow Plowing.Must be able to work independently or with a team
