Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and processing bi-weekly payroll, including reviewing and verifying time, data entry, and reporting accuracy.
- Support payroll-related deduction payments, quarterly taxes, and annual W2s.
- Examine contracts, purchase orders, and financial documents for approval and compliance.
- Process requisitions, prepare purchase orders, and enter invoices.
- Balance and verify daily bank deposits, and perform monthly and yearly reconciliations.
Requirements
- A college degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with three to five years' experience in public finance preferred.
- Extensive work experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to accurately perform mathematical computations and analyze fiscal records.
- Knowledge of municipal government accounting practices, planning, and auditing standards.
- Considerable knowledge of centralized budgeting, payroll, cash, and fund accounting.
