Job Summary:
This is an hourly position with a starting pay of $21.78 per hour and may increase depending upon experience and qualifications.
The Finance Clerk will assist in the professional and administrative work in the Department of Finance, performing tasks related to financial records, revenue collection, and recordkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other related finance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and processing bi-weekly payroll, including reviewing and verifying time, data entry, and filing taxes.
- Process requisitions, prepare purchase orders, process claims and vouchers for payment, and verify account codes and signatures.
- Balance and verify daily bank deposits and reconcile various accounts.
- Assist with the daily operation of the Finance Department, provide guidance on accounts payable and receivable, and maintain accounting and financial records.
- Respond to internal/external requests for information and provide financial information to other departments and the public.
Requirements:
- A college degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or Business Management, or closely related field, and three to five years' experience in public finance preferred.
- Extensive work experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations accurately and quickly, thorough knowledge of public finance administration, and knowledge of municipal government accounting practices and planning.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Must be bondable and have a valid Ohio Driver's License.
