JOB SUMMARY
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (Approximately June 2025 - August 2025)
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Under general supervision, performs specialized clerical duties in the Finance Department. Maintains utility billing files and related statistical data entry as assigned. Staff support during high operational period.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides information and assistance, over the phone and in person, regarding water bills and the procedure for establishing new accounts and or terminating services.
Utilizes a computer to record pertinent information regarding water/sewer customer accounts and maintaining data updates
Assists in processing new accounts, commercial accounts and termination requests.
Organize utility billing files as directed.
Assists in reviewing consumption reads and other water billings reports.
Responds to customer complaints regarding high water bills, suspected leaks, and other problems. Schedules appointments when necessary and inform residents of fees and policies.
Assists in preparing customer reminders and notices of accounts. Determines accounts to be terminated by reason of nonpayment and arranges for terminal readings and shut-offs.
Performs counter service activities including new water accounts, billing inquires and Landlord/Tenant Agreement Forms.
Be able to generate correspondence, records, reports, from rough draft, outline and verbal instruction.
Adheres to all Village policies and procedures within the department and as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.

EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 16 years of age and currently enrolled in high school or a GED program, or have a high school diploma or GED. Prior customer service experience and Microsoft Word and Excel experience is preferred.
