Job Title: Transit Bus Driver

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Transit Bus Driver. As a

Transit Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting passengers along designated routes in a

timely and efficient manner while ensuring their safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will possess

excellent driving skills, a commitment to adhering to traffic laws, and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

Safely operate a transit bus, following predetermined routes and schedules.

Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, disembarking, and answering

inquiries.

Ensure the safety of passengers by strictly adhering to traffic laws and company policies.

Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in proper working order.

Maintain a clean and well-presented bus interior, including regular cleaning and sanitizing of high-touch

surfaces.

Collect and verify fares from passengers, issuing tickets or receipts as needed.

Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate routes and address

any issues that may arise.

Report any accidents, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate authorities or

supervisors.

Adhere to all safety and emergency procedures, including evacuating passengers in case of an

emergency.

Attend training sessions and workshops to stay updated on safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid New Mexico Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Proven experience as a bus driver or in a similar role is preferred.

Excellent knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and safe driving practices.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Physical fitness to assist passengers with boarding and disembarking.

Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

*Will be subject to successful completion of a drug test.*
