The Village of Morrow is seeking applicants for a full-time Tax Administrator position. The primary responsibilities of the job are to administer the day-to-day operations of the tax department, including performing technical auditing of financial and tax records to determine the tax liability of individual and business taxpayers and employer withholdings. Specific job duties include :
- Enforcing the Village of Morrow income tax ordinance, rules and regulations
- Overseeing enforcement activities resulting in collection of delinquent income tax revenues and compliance
- Handling taxpayer complaints
- Developing tax forms and handling software questions
- Developing best practices of Income Tax related to income tax administration, collection and oversight
- Identifying revisions in the IRS code and making appropriate adjustments to the Village's policies
- Reviewing proposed changes in legislation and making suggested amendments
- Working with other jurisdictions in the State of Ohio that collect income tax
- Reviewing, coaching and counseling other employees
- Performing related work as required
This position will maintain high customer service interaction with Morrow residents and businesses to ensure overall compliance with the Morrow Tax Ordinance and Regulations and laws governing the State of Ohio. This position requires general knowledge of municipal and income tax software and office equipment, including a personal computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, telephone, postage meter, and general office equipment. The primary work site is the Village of Morrow Municipal Building. The successful applicant will be requested to assist other Village departments as time allows.
