What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Assistant II position at Village of Pinecrest?
Performs logistical and technical theatre production assistance campus wide under supervision of Facility Manager and Production and Campus Operations Specialist. Performs maintenance and cleaning for the Banyan Bowl and Garden Facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provides courteous, prompt and knowledgeable customer service to the public in person by providing general information regarding programs and events, facility rentals; greets visitors in a friendly and sincere manner.
- Supports box office with scanning and /or collection of admission tickets.
- Supports load-in and load out of all productions as needed including assembling and building of theater scenery, stage management assistance and talent merchandise support.
- Must have basic knowledge of audio and lighting equipment consoles for performances in the Banyan Bowl, festivals, special events and other Garden programming.
- Supports the maintenance of the Banyan Bowl and Garden facilities by performing general maintenance. Reports any equipment or safety issues to Manager.
- Supports with clean up duties, such as, the emptying of trash, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, wiping down tables and chairs and other furnishings. Replenishing toilet paper and hand towels in restrooms and theater. Checks parking lots for trash and safety hazards.
- Performs manual work in semi-skilled jobs involving maintenance, repair of buildings and grounds and minor construction, including pressure cleaning, painting and other related tasks.
- Enforces safety and other department rules and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Experience with technical theater functions including stage directions, production installation, customer service, working with technical equipment.
- Experience with maintaining a facility including custodial duties, event logistics support.
- Must be comfortable working at heights on a ladder.
- Must be able to read a stage plot, lighting plot and draw a stage plot for orchestras and the audio department.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to establish good customer relations. Must have an ability to deal with difficult people effectively, courteously and enthusiastically.
- Able to multi-task and distribute efforts appropriately among tasks, manage competing deadlines, handle frequent interruptions and maintain a high level of productivity.
- Must be knowledgeable of the materials, methods and equipment typically used in the Banyan Bowl and Garden.
- Must have knowledge of basic Banyan Bowl and Garden rules and regulations and ability to enforce applicable rules and regulations.
- Must have the physical strength and agility to perform assigned tasks, which include, but are not limited to, bending, twisting, walking, climbing, reaching, lifting and carrying.
- Must maintain high ethical, honesty and moral standards.
- Must be able to fluently speak, hear, read and write in the English language. Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
- Must be a non-smoker.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Applicants must complete all requirements established by the Village of Pinecrest for employment. This may include, but not be limited to, a written examination, typing test, psychological screening to determine suitability for position, polygraph examination, comprehensive background investigation, and a job-related medical examination including a drug/alcohol screening test.
- The minimum qualifications may be waived by the Village Manager.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a licensed driver status in the State of Florida.
- Ability to understand and follow complex, oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work assigned schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Ability to learn to operate a digital sound and theatrical light board.
- Ability to become CPR and AED certified.
- Ability to maintain a high level of organization.
- Ability to perform several tasks at one time.

- Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters and exercise discretion.
