Job Overview
The Director of Public Works is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and maintenance of public infrastructure and services. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background in engineering and management. The Director will lead a team of professionals in ensuring that public works projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with regulatory standards. Duties

• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to public works operations.
• Oversee the planning, design, and execution of public infrastructure projects including roads, water, and sewer utilities.
• Manage budgets, resources, and personnel to ensure effective project delivery.
• Collaborate with government agencies, contractors, and community stakeholders to facilitate project success.
• Conduct regular assessments of public works facilities and services to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards throughout all public works activities.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering professional development within the department.

Skills

• Proficiency in basic engineering principles.
• Strong Leadership abilities.
• Basic knowledge of Mechanical engineering concepts including mechanical design.
• Ability to perform Root cause analysis for problem-solving.
• Knowledge of Electrical engineering practices relevant to public infrastructure.
• Familiarity Public Works (Sewer and Water Infrastructure).

Salary

• Base pay for the position is 24.23 per hour.
• If you possess a Level 1 Water license additional: 3.50 per hour

• If you possess a Level 1 Wastewater license additional: 4.50 per hour
• If you possess a Level 1 Wastewater license additional: 7.00 per hour

*Potential pay of 34.73 per hour plus yearly step increases!!!!
