What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Clerk position at Village of Stillwater?
Overview
Under the direction of the Village Clerk/Treasurer and Mayor, this position is responsible for performing complex and confidential support services for the Village Clerk. Will be responsible for accepting water and sewer payments, accepting tax payments, balancing bank statements, general office duties, making journal entries and other year end governmental accounting functions. Must be honest, be very personable and have good oral/written communication skills. Must possess time management along with organizational skills and work well with others. This is a “Jack or Jill of all Trades” position and fantastic long term opportunity for the right individual who has attention to detail and willing to learn. Associates degree in Business or Accounting preferred, along with municipal record keeping. Position will be 10-15 hours per week but must be willing to cover during Clerk/Treasurer vacations and become a Notary Public.

Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
