CLASS TITLE: Maintenance Technician RATE OF PAY: Salary $42,170.20/(G9)
DEPT: Public Works FULL-TIME: 40 HOURS/WEEKLY
REPORTS TO: Public Works Director

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the Maintenance Technician performs a variety of labor-intensive tasks involving maintenance, repair, and construction of the village streets, storm sewer systems, parks building and grounds, and related public works projects. Also, performs maintenance and operation for all heavy equipment and trucks. Knows and understands all procedures, rules, and operations of this department.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Experience in street maintenance/repair and general public works maintenance/repair.
· Knowledge of fleet vehicles/equipment and facilities management.
· Knowledge of Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical Landscaping, and Fleet Operations.
· Experience in Effective Service Delivery.
· Experience in Public Presentation and in Team-Management Orientation.
· Experience with power tools, chainsaws, riding mowers, street sweepers and plow trucks.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, elected officials,
and the public.
· Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
· Ability to communicate effectively.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
· Class “B” and with Air Brake endorsement – CDL licensed required.
· Any licenses and/or certificates in the construction field are a plus.
