What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-time Veterinary Technician position at Villanova Veterinary Hospital?
Villanova Veterinary Hospital is looking for a veterinary technician to become part of our friendly and collaborative work environment with overall great clients and patients. We've recently added a second DVM and need to increase the size of our support team!
This is a full-time position that includes assisting in doctor exams, running tech appointments, performing dental cleanings, and anesthetic monitoring. The schedule is Monday and Friday 8:30a-5:30p, Tuesday and Wednesday 7:30a-5:30p and rotating Saturdays 8:30a-12:30p (approximately 1 every 8 weeks).
Applicants should submit their résumé detailing experience and desired salary. Pay for this position is $18-$24 hourly, commensurate with experience. We are willing to train to an extent but you must have 1 year experience working as a technician in a small animal veterinary hospital or have a CVT/RVT license. Anesthesia protocol experience is strongly preferred. We are extremely paper-lite so computer skills are absolutely necessary. EOE and at will employment.

Responsibilities include:
- Providing excellent client communication and patient care
- Restraining animals (must be able to lift up to 45lbs)
- Recording accurate medical notes
- Placing IV catheters and venipuncture
- Operating in-house lab equipment
- Preparing and reading microscope slides
- Performing digital radiographs (standard and dental)
- Conducting technician appointments (nail trims, anal sac expressions, vaccine boosters, blood draws, insulin/fluids demonstrations, etc.)
- Filling prescriptions in-house and through our online store
- Performing dental scaling/polishing
- Preparing for and monitoring during anesthetic procedures
- Maintaining a clean and well-stocked hospital
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
