Job Summary
We are a fun and team oriented practice seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental family. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic while providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, proficiency in assisting during procedures, and the ability to maintain a sterile environment. Experience in oral surgery and dental software such as Dentrix is highly desirable. Bilingual English - Spanish required. Flexible hours as needed.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are prepared and available.
- Coordinate patient treatment plans to ensure the best care possible is provided
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Record medical history and vital signs of patients accurately.
- Manage patient records, including medical documentation and coding, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic effectively.
- Maintain supplies needed list
- Assist the Front Desk: answering phones, confirming appointments, verify insurance, billing and collections
- Assist with other clinical operations as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of treatment plans and ability to execute
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix is a plus.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Ability to perform basic medical coding and documentation tasks accurately.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
