Vineyard 29 Harvest Intern
We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Harvest Intern to join our team in Napa Valley. As an integral part of our cellar crew, you will work closely with the winemaker and assist in all aspects of wine production.
Responsibilities:
- Grape sampling
- Tank and crush equipment setup and sanitation
- Grape receiving, processing, and sorting using state-of-the-art equipment
- Pressing
- Inoculations
- Nutrient additions
- Red and white fermentation monitoring
- Pumpovers and punchdowns
- Drain and press operations
- Barrel preparation
- Barrel racking and filling
- Barrel topping
- Basic analysis using in-house lab equipment
Qualifications:
- General knowledge of wine-making equipment and practices
- Willingness to learn
- Advanced level of cleanliness
- Ability to adapt and adjust plans on the fly
- Problem-solving skills in stressful situations
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs daily in varying temperatures
- Attention to detail
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work long hours on your feet, 6 days a week
- Physical labor required for cellar work
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Previous harvest experience desired but not necessary
