The Café Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the café by preparing and delivering meals for VCC Education programs while ensuring compliance with food safety and program regulations (CACFP/SFSP). This position involves maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, completing administrative tasks, tracking inventory, and collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality meal services.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and works with a sense of urgency, contributing to the café’s overall success in fulfilling its mission to serve the community.

What you’ll do:
- Prepare and deliver meals for youth education and adult day service programs, including setup and cleanup
- Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines and CACFP/SFSP regulations
- Complete administrative tasks, including weekly paperwork, meal service documentation, and inventory tracking
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety protocols
- Report inventory needs to the Café Manager
What you bring:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience with large meal preparation is a plus
- Strong time management skills and ability to work with a sense of urgency
- Microsoft Office experience preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to work within 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday (based on program needs)
- Reliable transportation is required
