Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Designer that will be responsible for designing made for outlet product for all product categories (Mens, Womens, Kids, Accessories) through Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, Photoshop and Illustrator, either from original idea generation, inspiration, or manipulating existing designs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in having their hand in many categories!
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on seasonal concept development and product lifecycle planning for the outlet assortment.
- Lead and mentor a team of two designers, providing strategic direction and fostering creativity to drive impactful design solutions.
- Work with Production and Merchandising on the fabric sourcing and product development to ensure cost, quality and delivery are workable.
- Ensure seasonal departmental development meets the brands goals for quality and aesthetic, and aligns with an optimized outlet pricing structure.
- Research, manage and present trends for inspiration and product direction; present print concepts seasonally.
- Develop seasonal palettes for color, concept, and pattern that draw inspiration from current trends and creative themes.
- Rework original artwork or past season’s artwork by changing layouts, color, size, rotation or placement of elements.
- Identify and problem solve production issues to ensure design intent is preserved and that factory can execute the desired aesthetic.
- Comment on all submits, lab dips and strike offs to ensure correct execution/color.
- Attend milestone meetings, articulate design direction and point of view, and present to leadership and cross functional teams as needed.
- Partner with production and sourcing to develop fabrications and trims that maintain brand quality while meeting cost targets.
- Collaborate on fabric sourcing and development to ensure designs are cost-efficient without sacrificing quality or aesthetic.
- Provide recommendations on alternate materials, trims, or construction techniques to meet pricing strategies for the outlet business.
- Evaluate design details such as washes, finishes, and construction techniques to create cost-effective solutions that uphold the vineyard vines brand standards.
What You Bring:
- 5 years related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Expert in Adobe Suite including Photoshop and Illustrator, Acrobat, Microsoft Excel and Word, Google Suite
- High skill level Centric/other PLM system
- Strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills along with meaningful experience with collaborating cross functionally
- Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
- Communication and presentation skills: concisely and impactfully presents to leadership
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to respond to change positively
