Job Summary:
The Vinita High School Principal provides visionary leadership and administrative oversight to create a dynamic and high-achieving learning environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Visionary Leadership and School Culture (25%)
- Develop and articulate a clear and compelling vision for Vinita High School, aligned with the district's goals.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and fair school culture that promotes high expectations and a sense of belonging for all students and staff.
- Build meaningful relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
- Implement strategies to improve school climate and student attendance.
- Lead school-wide initiatives related to student and staff recognition and celebration.
- Instructional Leadership and Curriculum (30%)
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a rigorous and relevant curriculum that meets the diverse needs of all scholars.
- Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers, promoting effective teaching practices and data-informed instruction.
- Ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with state standards and district goals.
- Monitor student progress and achievement data, using it to make instructional decisions.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their instructional skills.
- Student Achievement and Well-Being (25%)
- Establish and check clear goals for student learning, using a variety of data sources to track progress.
- Implement strategies to meet scholars' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Ensure a safe and civil learning environment for all scholars and staff.
- Promote student engagement and participation in extracurricular activities.
- Develop and apply programs to support student success, including academic interventions and college, career, and life readiness initiatives.
- Community Engagement and Partnerships (15%)
- Build and support quality relationships for staff, families, and community members.
- Develop and integrate strategies to increase family and community involvement in the school setting to help students.
- Establish partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and institutions to support student learning and development.
- Communicate effectively with the community about the school's successes and challenges.
- Actively seek community feedback to better inform school improvement efforts.
- School Operations and Management (5%)
- Manage the school's budget, resources, and facilities effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all district policies, state laws, and regulations.
- Supervise and evaluate staff performance.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Educational Administration or a related field.
- Valid Oklahoma Principal Certification.
- Demonstrated success in school leadership, preferably at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of learning, curriculum, and instruction.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build and support positive relationships with all stakeholders.
