Vinson Hall Retirement Community (VHRC), a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community, located in beautiful McLean, VA is currently seeking an energetic team player to join our team as an Community Events Assistant in our Independent Living department. If caring for older adults is your passion, we are looking for YOU! Vinson Hall Retirement Community offers competitive starting rate for the position is $18.83 per hour.
Our Community Events Assistant are key to helping our residents "live life their way" by engaging our residents in social and recreational activities, maintaining compliance in our regulated areas, provides regular reports to the department manager and Administrator, as well as, assist in providing emotional support while maintaining residents right to privacy.
Assisting with facilitating a full array of activities, which are congruent with residents' needs and interests, and are designed to meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident in Vinson Hall.
Assists with special programs and events for Vinson Hall Retirement Community residents with a goal of enhancing the community spirit, providing entertainment, and in some cases raising community awareness of VHRC.
Must have a valid Virginia driver's license, a good driving record and be insurable to drive non-CDL vehicles. Develop a working knowledge of proper operation of VHRC vehicles, including tie-downs, lifts, and steps.
- Associates degree in related field preferred
- Two years experience in an Adult Care Residence (ACR) or nursing home preferred.
- Willing to function as a team member with a genuine desire to work with a geriatric population.
