Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of various operating systems, networking concepts, and troubleshooting techniques.
Overview:
- Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals. Typical county systems include a mix of desktops and laptops, and many of the following functions, including but not limited to jail management systems, booking, court records systems, computer aided dispatch, payroll, appraisal district systems, tax and records, financial systems, remote access systems, and other relevant local government systems.
- Install and configure computer software, hardware, and peripheral equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues quickly and efficiently.
- Set up computers and other office equipment for employees.
- Provide steps to help internal users resolve technical problems.
- Maintain technical support procedures and reports.
- Create accounts for new users and assist with password or login problems.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- Knowledge of the practices, principles, and techniques of computer operations.
- Skill in the support of computers, in the use of applicable programs and systems, and in troubleshooting information systems.
- User/Account management and creation.
- Knowledge of computer re-imaging, configuration, and deployment.
